Alright, yeah. Coco might be the best Pixar movie yet. Applause

I basically posted that through watery eyes moments after the end of the movie so take it with a grain of salt. But they're just so consistently good (non-Toy Story sequels aside) that lots of them can make a case for the best. I'd definitely put it up there with the Toy Story films, Wall-E and Up as the ones I think are slightly better than the rest. The thing that stood out for me was the set design. Looked so real I wouldn't be surprised if they just edited the characters into real places and miniature sets.

Don't hate me, the deadline's going to be a Monday.

APRIL 9th

How bout Wednesday the 11th? Phantom Thread hits DVD on 4/10. I'd feel like a dick if it turns out to be my favorite film of the year (the last PTA-DDL film is my favorite of the entire century) and it winds up a few spots back from where it could be on our final list.

That's a fair argument, sure. Phantom Thread is a fav of mine from 2018, would love for more people to see it. Let's make it April 12th. Give it a fair shot.

^^^

This reminds me of how I extended the Sci-Fi and Fantasy polls a few days just so Gowi would participate. Just as Gowi's last-second input helped those lists, badseed's viewing of Phantom Thread will boost that movie...as it should because Phantom Thread rocks.

However, it's unfortunate badseed missed it in theaters. The movie's 35mm format gives it a grainy texture appropriate for the story's time period and setting. It was a great experience to see it in theaters in 35mm. But when I watch clips and trailers on YouTube, that graininess is gone. It looks glossy, polished. It doesn't look like the film I saw in the theater. I can't say for sure how the DVD version will look. But given it's a digital format, it probably won't look like the film version. Oh well. Still a great movie, but one that should be watched on the big screen.

Nice, glad you liked it.

Hayden will likely accept this. However, lists are weighted based on size. The longer the list, the more it counts. Thus, your list of 3 movies will be worth very little. Can you make a longer list? But yeah, Phantom Thread and Killing of a Sacred Deer kick ass.

Course, 3 is still a list. I've accepted 1 before Laughing

No problems mdbaxter, will tally it up (but, like StreetSpirit said, the list's size determines its weight). If it is your final list, at least it's a pretty solid one.

And yeah, Molly's Game is great. Imagine if all Hollywood movies were written that tight? Christ. Just a constant barrage of 'oh, that was a great line... and so was that one...'. Intimidatingly good tbh. Crazy story too. At the end of the day I'm still straight up thinking 'good for her'. What a boss.

Sorry guys, I'm new to the forums. I thought it was just a discussion. I didn't realize a list was being made d'oh! . If you're still making the list then my list would be (In order):

Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Wind River, Get Out, Dunkirk, The Big Sick, Baby Driver, Call Me By Your Name, The Post, Three Billboards, Darkest Hour, Shape of Water, Florida Project, The Lost City of Z, Star Wars, Good Time, A Ghost Story
