Easily better than Abbey in '69:

1. Moody Blues - To Our Children's Children's Children
2. King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
3. Kinks - Arthur, or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire
4. Joe Henderson - Power to the People
5. Moody Blue - On the Threshold of a Dream
6. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
7. Miroslav Vitous - Infinite Search
8. Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery - The Futher Adventures of Jimmy and Wes
9. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
10. Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed

You instantly lost me with the mention of the Moody Blues...

Moodies my favorite group from '67 - '72. That Children album is particularly strong; highly creative, varied yet cohesive (unlike Abbey which certainly is varied but hardly cohesive), and every last cut (again unlike Abbey) a winner in and of itself while simultaneously contributing to the greater whole.
