My humble wishes:
1. Start summarizing the 2018 tomorrow today - until 12/31/2018.
2. In three classic nominations: 1) Music videos; 2) Tracks; 3) Albums.
3. Refuse to vote without a face.
4. Use only personal rating lists.
5. Give the opportunity to declare no more than one release in the nomination.
6. Give the opportunity to change their applications and ratings.
7. Sum up the interim results at least every week.
8. Give the opportunity to vote against the non-liked releases.
9. Encourage first places at intermediate results.
10. Do not judge me strictly for my ignorance of language and arrogance.))

1. Sorry, no. People need time to review the year before the tournament.
2. I'm not sure if there's appetite for three different tournaments. And this is Best Ever Albums after all.
3. ?
4. ?
5. That's already how it worked this year.
6. I don't see how it would be workable for people to change their nominees once voting has begun.
7. This entire tournament I've been summing them up every day or every other day in the spreadsheet that's linked in every matchup. And you can see the results on every thread yourself if that's not enough.
8. You can already do this by voting for their opponents.
9. ?
10. No judgment on your language, but I make no promises on your other request.

You understood me wrong.
I have no complaints.
On the contrary!
I am very pleased that there are music lovers like you.
You did a great job.
I myself used electronic voting.
But this is a rather crude method.
It is justified for a large number of participants.
For 20 participants can be counted manually.
I would take it myself, but no one will support me, I'm afraid.

Thanks. Electronic voting is built into BEA, and I have faith that we can use the honor system and people will not manipulate the results. If that faith proves misplaced, obviously we will need to find another solution. To be clear, voting in the poll and then commenting did not count twice. The poll was the only way to vote.

To clarify for those reading the above exchange, I was soliciting feedback on these two issues below, not the fundamental structure of the tournament. Still interested in people's views on them.

a) Did having a randomized bracket make the tournament more interesting? Should we keep it for the 2018 tournament or use a traditional bracket structure instead?

b) I'm thinking about starting the 2018 tournament a little earlier in the year. Maybe opening nominations on June 1 or July 1. Anyone have thoughts on this?

A) I honestly didn't even notice.

B) Yes, the more time to review the better.

Thanks Hayden and Tilly! I think having one tournament a year makes it more of a special occasion, and it's also a lot easier to get more people on board with listening to the most recent year in music. So that's what's preventing me from doing a random year. That being said, I would be down for listening to a random year with a few people outside of a tournament context after I'm done with at least one of the years I'm working on now.

Sounds good. I'm down.
