..and tell us your first impressions.
Inspired by a recent thread by Rhyner (“what’s the highest ranked album you’ve never listened to” https://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/v...hp?t=20737)
Apparently, many classics remain unheard, so perhaps it would be interesting to have them heard more! And fun to get some fresh first impressions (in a few words) from you guys.

So I begin with Funeral by Arcade Fire:

Disappointed. It’s serious and focused, but their crescendo song structure is a bit too repetitive. From the same source (Heroin by the Velvet Underground), I prefer Spiritualized and their original exhausted gospel. Here, it’s really too indie: the typical equalized and muffled mix (which is in fact redundant with teenage angst), the not-so-good tunes…
But this is the 7th best album in history, so I must have missed something!

PS: the melody of the last song is very similar to Shake and Crowl by The House of Love (1990)

And you, is there some classic you want to give a try ?

sure! I didn't know you you were referring to the same initial thread. But that thread was focusing on BEA overall chart. And that's what I was interested in: first listens to overall top 100 or 200 albums (that's why initially I wanted to also post it in the main "music" forum). Your thread widen the game to virtually any album: but that's good and I'll be happy to join!

It's close enough, brother! Join us!!! It's been fun. Smile

Don't want to have too many threads dealing with a similar experience. It would dilute the experience.
