Good grief, now in Bizarro World: Halloween starts in September, Thanksgiving in October, Christmas starts on Black Friday, and the Top 100 Albums happen November 13.
well in fairness this will be earlier than most, and this one is more about shamelessly cashing in on overpriced limited edition versions of their top picks in time for the holidays (which makes me think they had them locked in pretty early so as to get the production process started). but yeah there will probably be some more that come in before thanksgiving.
The most interesting Residents album to re released since Animal Lover. A great choice for fans of the band, and not a bad album as an entry point either. It's actually pretty damn accessible.
Too bad it might be the last new material they ever release, because Hardy Fox, who was (supposedly) one of the main masterminds behind the group, recently died.

to be fair, they've released a lot. in our database, we've got 125 of their albums and rym lists a collective 168 LPs, EPs and live albums. that's enough that you could roll through the whole discography, come back to the beginning and feel like you've discovered something new again. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

That's true. I kind of wanted to see some 90 year old Residents though. They go out on stage hooked up to oxygen tanks and colostomy bags. Maybe that will still happen, because he wasn't a part of their live show and who knows who's really under those masks anyway?
