Although, despite being a fan of that style, I have never grasped the hype for Richard and Linda Thompson’s albums, nor for Marvin Gaye, and the two Donald Fagen-fronted albums in the Top ten are overrated in my opinion.

Nonetheless, this is still an interesting list, and no record could I agree upon more than Hejira – it is much better than Blue, and the first side of The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle is another gem of a “half-record”. Handful Of Earth is a record I have long heard of but never got round to listening to even once, and I agree that Stand! (and the underrated Life) are better than There’s A Riot Going On.

Here’s a thought - why don’t you create your own chart so we can all pick holes in the ‘over-rated’ albums that you like?

I’m a little sorry if that was your response to your previous comment, and feel I have offended you in a manner I never intended!

Incidentally, I was intending to create my own chart last night but decided I might have been a little premature with a substantial backlog of albums to listen to.
