Opens with their very best song ever, and stays mostly strong from that point forward.

My favourite Stones album. I would love to see Gimme Shelter performed live. And Midnight Rambler. That track is on Get Yer Ya Ya's Out the 1970 live album, which I have on vinyl, my Dad's old copy.

BEA gives this album 86/100. I think it may be low.

Rolling stones were at the peak of their game when they created this classic.
In the early 60's, they created 6 or 7 masterpieces, and they were going to create another 4 or 5 after this album.

Starting with the dread guitar rumble of gimme shelter.
The bluesy punch of monkey man.
A great cover of Robert Johnsons's "love in vain" with ry cooder on mandolin.
Keith singing lead vocals on "you got the silver"
"Let it Bleed" might be the stones sexiest song.

This is a Barry Bonds 460 ft grand slam home run! It really doesn't get better than this.

Too many rough spots on this album for me to consider it great, as AMAZING are the tracks Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler, and YCAGWYW. This album would be a bit better had they swapped Country Honk for the single Honky Tonk Women.

Easily an 85/100 album though, so pretty good.

Out of this world bookends, and lots of decent to very good songs in the middle. Great.

Keith singing You Got The Silver (which uncannily sounds like Jagger), is mint.
