Wow!! Just listened to it yesterday and re-reviewed it and the more i listen to this the more i think it's a 10. AND GOD YES! one of the funkiest records of all time

Ok this and Blood Sugar Sex Magick by the Chili Peppers also very funky

Great album by the way, Remain In Light and TH 1977 are my 2 fav Talking Heads albums.

Not even close unless you enforce a “whites only” rule and exclude the work of whites in multiracial bands. Off the top, Rufus, Sly & The Family Stone, and Tower Of Power all easily defeat this in funkiness. And if you do use that sort of rule, there are multiple all-white bands who made straight-up funk as opposed to new wave with a funk influence.

"new wave with a funk influence" is and always will be unfair doe. It is its own mix of afrobeat and glacial whoknowswhat. The album's a 10/10. It's just not the outright funk masterpiece some people claim it to be.
