A few updates:

1. Now that my year chart has 85 albums, I'm closing the book on 1994 for the time being. I didn't have time to do write-ups for them, but thank you for all the recs Skinny. You put me on to some really cool albums that I wouldn't have checked out otherwise, such as Ocean Of Funk.

2. I've updated the list that has chronicled my trip through time (A Musical Olympics). It's no longer strictly limited to the top albums of each year, and can be more versatile for use with other listening projects. I'll add 2010 to it next after I finish listening to all the recs in the collaborative diary.

3. 3/5 serves as the threshold for music staying in my iTunes library, but my scoring has been so generous that my library is filling up with albums that I'm not very fond of, and it's at a whopping 96 days of music (35% of maximum capacity). So I've tweaked the labels on my rating system to try to establish more of an equilibrium. Here is the latest version:

5.0 = Near-perfect
4.5 = Amazing
4.0 = Great
3.5 = Quite good
3.0 = Pretty good
2.5 = Okay
2.0 = Pretty bad
1.5 = Quite bad
1.0 = Abysmal
0.5 = Deplorable

Many of my ratings are now slightly off, so it's going to be a long process to recalibrate. I will likely go through my overall chart in order for this purpose later in the year. When I do that I'll probably add a bonus factor for when an album is greater than the sum of its parts, which I don't currently consider.
