Did anybody put Carl Reiner and Steve Martin? They did 4 movies together.

I've seen those movies, but I suspect some of the younger participants haven't seen all of them. The movies are good, just not quite enough to make my top 50.

Couldn't do Herzog-Kinski because I've only seen two of their collaborations -- a major shortcoming, I know. I do plan to watch a third in the next few weeks and add them. Kazan-Brando were on my longlist, but because of Viva Zapata (oddly, one of my father's favorite movies), they didn't quite make it.

I think Viva Zapata is just fine, but the other two are what makes that pairing one of the most important in the history of screen acting. As for Kinski and Herzog, curious to which two you've seen. Assuming its Aguirre and either Nosferatu or Fitzcarraldo. Try to scope out the other one if you get the chance. They're all amazing.

Fitzcaraldo. Will check out Nosferatu.

I went back and forth on Kazan-Brando a few times, so I could end up back again. Barely remember Zapata, but it doesn't have a great rep.

I didn't figure this would stir up too much interest but I'm sure we can get a couple more lists in. I'll send some PMs shortly to try to encourage participation. Thinking about going with a deadline of May 6, that'll give time for a little rest for someone to take the reins on the next one of they like. Again I hope to do the horror list with a deadline for October 31st, so as long as the floor is open by mid to late August we shouldn't have any overlapping.

I hope to see a few more. I can think of 5 folks who might chip in (6 if bobbyb5 didn't get blocked out of his account, DOH).

Wondering if anyone's not seen this because it's not in the Games subforum (of course, right how, the odds of being able to see any other thread than tournament ones ain't good). Maybe we should have a "HEY, MOVIE POLLS ARE NOW IN THE MOVIES & TV SUBFORUM" thread. Then again, it might get buried like the others -- though the current tourney seems to be winding down. I could bump it every day. Very Happy

Good idea. I'm at work now but I'll do it when I get off unless you beat me to it

If you post it, I'll bump it almost every day no matter what (unless it's near the top of the page already).

Done. Don't get in trouble for overposting, it's been a long time since I've encountered any "Off Topic - GTFO" people on the internet but I'm old school where users actually took pride in their post count (and anyone posting as much better be posting quality on topic stuff) and moderators also expected a sleek cleanliness to their forums so I felt rather uncourteous for putting in there but let's be honest, that game section is as close to the opposite of cleanliness as I've ever seen in a forum so it shouldn't be a big deal to have the notice bouncing around for a couple weeks. Nothing wrong with that. Online etiquette is actually way better today than it was 10-15 years ago.
