There's a post titled "What is God?" where pretty much everyone who would be interested in going there already went there.

I certainly have a touch of pantheism that runs through my own beliefs...that may or may not count depending upon your own interpretations...

Personally, I find it hard to believe in a universe without a god, but that's just me. I've got my reasons for believing in God, but I think our interpretations should remain more personal instead of in group churches.

That is a somewhat unique take. If you don't mind me asking, what are some reasons you have for believing in God? I used to believe in God. Right now I don't but it's possible I could change my mind. Many people define "God" differently, as well.

My opinion is largely made of personal experiences with their own stories, but they have the same ending: something always works out in the most shocking way. But the real "proof" for me comes in another man's story: Jim Caviezel. During the filming of The Passion of the Christ, where he played Jesus, he went through multiple injuries, caught hypotheria AND pneumonia, got scourged and struck by lightning for the second time in his life. Who gets struck by lightning twice? Obviously, some greater power didn't want a movie made about Jesus being brutalized before a horrible death. What other higher power could it be than Jesus' father?

Not really, but I'm probably more agnostic than atheistic. It probably does make more sense to me for there not to be a creator that set the universe in motion, but I could see one existing. As a queer individual, I think my relationship with God was always bound to be a struggle at best though, which is unfortunate. I'm studying religion at my university though and it's been an interesting process for me to come to terms with a lot of the outdated nonsense in most popular religions, since often it's way overblown for political purposes. I'm young, though, so maybe I'll figure stuff out somewhere down the road.

The way I see it, the nonsense in manmade whether you're religious or not.

I tend to respect the average agnostic and atheist more than the average religious person because religion is treated as an excuse to justify actions, much like pointing the other finger in a philosophical debate.
