Definitely not here to fight (for retrospect, I think I'd give Moonlight a 6/10 or something), and I'd never bash someone for liking it, but perhaps I just wish Disclosure would have shown some growth from Settle by now. They're cool guys, nothing against them — my fav record store in Toronto seems to be their fav record store as well (stocked heavily with hip-hop/dance/techno/house/reggae/soul), and I see where their influences come from, but I don't think they have a 'sound'.

All being said, I think the title track is pretty decent, and without a doubt the best of the bunch.

I think the only thing I'm curious would be House albums that you believe do more since I do need more albums in this style of music.

So that makes me the second vote. I also echo Luigii's question - what are some albums that are sonically similar and better?

Don't have to venture too far, I think Jaar's AAL release last year is stellar. Same with DJ Koze, and most of the cuts of Jon Hopkins' Singularity (Emerald Rush is killer). House/DJ-mixes are a lot more commonly found on one-off singles/remixes, etc... but as far as albums go, I'm fond of these:

Silent Introduction by Moodymann

Where You Go I Go Too by Lindstrøm

Alcachofa by Villalobos

It's Album Time by Todd Terje

M by

No Way Down by Air France

From Here We Go Sublime by The Field

Vocalcity by Luomo

American Intelligence by Theo Parrish

In A Dream by The Juan MacLean

World Psychedelic Classics 5: Who Is Wi...m Onyeabor
(this one kinda counts)

And here's a decent 2019 cut:

I Know You Like It by Shinichiro Yokota

Some aren't house (some are deep techno, microhouse, disco, etc...), but I hope you guys like them. House is a genre that (in general) I think less is more. I'd rather have strong simplicity than anything overly intricate.

And I'm putting this classic here cause it's great:

(but maybe listen to it on Spotify cause the quality is better)

I enjoyed all three of those albums, but none of them struck me as very similar in sound to this EP. Guess I'll have to listen again. Thanks for the covers - will add a lot that I haven't heard to my to-do list.

Disclosure aside, Nat Birchall just had a short interview with Bandcamp about jazz and Jamaica. Worth checking out.

Sounds Almighty defeats Moonlight 9-3 and advances to the elite eight.
