Yes, but once that chart is added it really doesn't take very long to unlock bigger (and more) charts.

Ways to earn points:

Each chart entry: 2pts
Each comment: 2pts
Each forum post: 2pts
Each rating: ½pt
Each mod update: 1pt

The most mentally effortless way to earn points is to rate albums and other people's charts. Only 1/2 point per rating, but you can rate thousands of albums. Leaving comments on albums and charts can earn you points pretty fast. Once you get to Level 5, you can make decade charts, which get you a lot more points.

Helping out with data moderation is a great way to gain points (and also helps the site). The users with the most points on the site have mostly accumulated them from data moderation...

Definitely true for me. Helped that I knew of hundreds of jazz albums (especially from the 80s and 90s) not in the database yet.
