(PS I know that quote was originally about foreign policy, but I think it can be applied to all political action.)

If only conservatives like Teddy were around still.

Yeah pro-regulation, anti-monopoly conservatives are hard to find these days...

I'm so, so sorry. While huge, the problems in American politics today feel like small potatoes compared to Brazilian voters electing an extreme right would-be military dictator (in his own words).

Will be working hard for another week and again in 2020 to change things in America so that I will be able to honestly say you're welcome here if things continue to get worse there.

Throwback to perhaps the most amazing American political ad of all-time, courtesy of the 2010 California Senate race. Thank you Carly Fiorina!

Haven't read this before, thanks guys, Jair just got inducted as president yesterday, and even though things might get really hard over the years I do wanna stay and fight for the things I love, for this place I grew up in, culture and stuff.

But shit we already got started and things are not looking good

https://www.voanews.com/a/brazil-jair-b...25647.html

Also He just took out LGBT Comunities out of policies related to promotion of human rights.

I'm not saying we're fucked.
But... we probably are

Needed to vent somewhere as I'm watching Sinn Fein make massive gains in the General Election back home. Their ideologies are economically unfeasible and could destroy the country, their real agenda is to push for a united Ireland and we're seeing convicted IRA members being elected to our parliament. I get that people want change, but these are not the guys to do it, yet blind romantacism and memes have won out. Surreal, I've lost a lot of faith in my country and its younger generations today, it's perfectly fine to vote with your heart in abortion and same sex marriage referendums, but this one needed a lot more thought than just uniting Ireland and more houses. Had to vent somewhere as anywhere Ireland related online has become a massive circlejerk. Genuinely disappointed considering how far we've come in the past few decades.

That's actually what I meant CGD. Somehow I missed your response.

Reading Teddy's speeches are inspiring sometimes.
