I rank it #12 out of 13 Beatles albums and #58 in the 1960s.
It's still an album by the Beatles!
So many great tracks: I'm a Loser, a great vocal by John on their cover of Rock and Roll Music,
Eight Days A Week, Every Little Thing and I Don't Want To Spoil the Party.

In my opinion it’s the 3rd worst beatles album. It was rushed to be released before Christmas and honestly it sounds rushed. Number 13 I put yellow submarine, 12 I put with the beatles and at 11 I put beatles for sale.

Yeah, not their finest and yet it's very good and an important part of their discography. They were expanding their influences, developing their songcraft and, at times, sounding more raucous than ever.

The covers aren't all great. That said, "Mr Moonlight" is the only one that seems completely expendable. Ringo pulls the harmless "Honey Don't" through with his vocal charm and add libs ("rock on George, one time for Ringo"). "Words of love" sounds really nice, but I imagine it's pretty close to Buddy Holly's original.

"Eight days a week" is brilliant early Beatles, whilst "No reply" and "Baby's in Black" signal their development as songwriters. Also, didn't they invent country rock (before the Byrds and Dylan) on this album?

Their worst, but still a pretty good album. Eight Days a Week is obviously a highlight, but the song I've always love is Paul's I'll follow the sun, with its sweet melody and charm it was a sign of other great Paul ballads to come.

Average album. It starts off good. No Reply is great. Tracks 2 and 3 are decent, but nothing special. I think they did a good cover of Rock and Roll Music. I'll Follow the Sun is pleasant enough. Beyond that, except for Eight Days a Week, everything is somewhere between crap and enjoyable filler.

Definitely a weaker album in their discography, but I still love it, even a bad Beatles album is a good album imo.

I'm A Loser, Mr. Moonlight, Eight Days A Week, Every Little Thing, all great tunes

I'm getting the vibe from these statements that Beatles for Sale is being partially shielded from criticism due to its association. It's as if the album is given the benefit of the doubt just because it's by The Beatles and has a few great tracks. Consequently, Beatles for Sale might be receiving praise it doesn't really deserve. If true, I don't agree with that. Having recently revisited Beatles for Sale, I have to admit it's nothing special, average on the whole, despite some nice highlights. Nevertheless, a mediocre album is a mediocre album, doesn't matter who made it.
