It isn’t really that great, musically. But Lou’s brand of ultra-cynical lyricism really jives with my inner Diogenes. _________________ Can you play free, or in three, or agree to try something new?
i had a couple of friends, many yrs ago, who openly stated this was his best work.
i never agreed with them.
this album starts off strong; tracks like "romeo had juliet', 'dirty boulevard" and 'halloween parade".
Lou Reed is at the top of his game with these 3- and his guitar work is also amazing. just fantastic.
and then, the album sort of changes tone and looses that "sting" that was present.
Still a good listen.
I love the spoken words throughout the album. It suits Lou Reed very well.
Any recommendations of good spoken-words albums or songs?

Album: I'm New Here [I prefer Pieces Of A Man, but it's not exactly a spoken word album] _________________ Add me on RYM
