Is anyone going to endeavour to listen to all of it? Laughing I think I might do it in 2 lots....

But the big important question is would it be vaild on a BEA chart Think considering it's 24x the length of anormal album?

I'm sure it would be valid, but I can't imagine that too many people would legitimately put it in their charts.

LCDSoundsystem's 45:33 is the only full album one track deal that I can think of at the moment. It doesn't get any votes here, and it's 1/25th of that size.

I recently added "Sex" by the Necks to my chart, also a one-track album.

Is this the only way to listen to the 24-hour song?

No. For $5000, you can purchase one of about 15 total copies of the song on a USB device encased inside an actual human skull dipped in chrome.

I am fully aware that that sounds like I'm poking fun at the Flaming Lips, but it's actually true...

Also, I was lucky enough to get in before the listener pool filled up, and I have to say, it really wasn't anything to write home about...

Well, The Flaming Lips are the most eccentric band in rock. They have a long history of this kind of thing. Remember Zaireeka, the four stereo album? The boombox experiment concerts? I went to a show around the time of the Soft Bulletin where everyone got a cheap old school radio walkman with headphones and were asked to tune into a specific frequency while listening to the same concert live (That was one of their dumber ideas). Laughing

What I am wondering is, Did they stay up all night, and record at least some of the tracks live? Now that would be something! Or did they loop a bunch of sounds and just keep the whole thing going for 24 hours of recording? I'm really curious.

What fascinates me is that Warner Brothers continues to support their weird ideas. Shocked

One has to admire them though for always trying to do something different. Mr. Green
