Even though Kid A is one of my least favorite albums ever now, I still, somehow, really love this album. My old descriptions holds up imo.

I read a nice review on RYM, stating that Kid A is like watching a forest burn in distance, whereas Amnesiac is like standing in the middle of one. That hit the spot. And it actually makes great sense if I talk about certain songs. You know what, many aspects have been taken talking about Radiohead’s music, so I will set the “forest fire” in perspective to these amazing tracks on Amnesiac: Pyramid Song (favorite ballad by them), is the musical equivalent of walking into a burning forest yet is also equivalent to being leaved out in the cold. It’s an absolute masterpiece of a song, and if you catch me not feeling it, then you must be dreaming lol; Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors speaks for itself; You And Whose Army, is after you’ve been hit by a tree and collapsed, Thom faintly sings “come up…” in your head; I Might Be Wrong, is like walking and swimming in the now pretty-hot brook inside the forest. Your eyes/vision have turned as red as on the cover-art, at this point; Dollars And Cents a jazz-cut that also speaks for itself; Hunting Bears & Like Spinning Plates is like finding a way out, or being rescued any kind of way…
This is the only Radiohead record that (I remember) has REAL shapes of imperfection, lo-fi etc.
It’s very inconsistent, but that’s for its big advantage. It’s like Radiohead ain’t trying to do anything specifically perfect, yet it automatically turns out to be extraordinarily classy. Another kind of magical ting about Amnesiac is if you choose to put it on, when you drive through an average day around town, it can literally trick you into thinking you’re inside a dream.

Even though I abslotely adore Radiohead, I sometimes consired parts of their discography to be overrated by association (mainly this album and HTTT). That's probably the reason I rarely listen to them recently. However, whenever I do listen to them, I remember how phenomenal they are. This album is just so so so so good. Probably less ambitious than most of their albums, but still the songs are amazing. I always forget how good the stretch from track 4 to track 8 is.

Oh, and this Morning Bell is much superior to its Kid A counterpart.
