The Indigo Child by The Dear Hunter

My expectations were conflicting going into this alum. I personally think this group has made a modern prog-rock classic with Act IV and moments on their color EPs came close to that greatness, but I feel like the group is at a crossroads with their style anymore. This album is designed to be a soundtrack to a short film (that I haven't watched) and it certainly feels like it. That's not a bad thing at all but it's good to know going into it. Aside from the opener, it's mostly instrumentals that I actually think are pretty engaging. Certainly not my favorite projects this group has put out but It's a pretty interesting listen that I'll definitely be coming back to.

Both fire

Payroll doesn’t miss. One of the best rappers working.

Thanks for putting me onto him, he's become one of my favorite rappers this year. Both of his albums this year are gas

Downfall Of The Neon Youth by 파란노...omam Conta

Parannoul is back again after releasing an incredible album in To See the Next Part of the Dream earlier this year. In this he collabs with 2 other artists in the shoegaze emo movement. Parannoul continues with his Post-rock, shoegaze inspired emo while Asian Glow adds noise pop and Sonhos Tomam Conta adds Brazilian Blackgaze to the mix. This is a great listen

Ditto this completely. Parannoul is someone to watch, his portions of this album are easily the highlights. I wasn't as much of a fan of Asian Glow's tracks, but overall it's a really unified album despite being a collab.

Mandatory Enjoyment by Dummy
A bit lofi noise pop with psychedelic and krautrock-style jamming. Very pleasant listen, especially if you like your indie pop more in the 90s dirty/noisy/experimental vein.

Waysides by Bedouine

One of the better/best singer-songwriter folk records of the year. Hoping it doesn't slip under the radar.

Agreed. Was the first album last Friday I pushed play on and it doesn’t disappoint. All 3 of them LPs I’ve heard from her are excellent.

I don't live here any more by The War On Drugs

Well, first impression is that this sounds a heck of a lot like...The War On Drugs (believe it or not). Sounds pretty good too. Some tracks faded into the background, but there were some nice standouts too (it took a while to get going and then around track four was great). I'll certainly give it a second listen soon and I reckon it will rank pretty high on my 2021 chart by the end.

Checking it out now. Quite good. I've never heard anything by TWoD that disappointed me, this is no exception. Lead singer sounds like he's trying to channel Bob Dylan or Tom Petty a little too much which is my only complaint. Maybe his voice is just rougher or less edited this time around though.
