Lyrics from Can't Stand It (opening track to their previous album "Summerteeth") :

"Phones still ring
And singers sing
Speakers are speaking in code
What now
Well anyhow
Our prayers will never be answered again"

That line somehow reminds me of Yankee / Hotel / Foxtrot.

I really need to listen to this again. It's the kind of music I generally like. And the kind of music I'd probably be making (erm.. trying to make) if I were a musician

Does anyone know the story behind the title? (YHF?). Like, I get it. But what is YHF? Or was it just to sound cool?

Either way, Jesus,etc... Is an incredible song Very Happy

YHF comes from Jeff Tweedy’s interest in short-wave radio. YHF (“Yankee Hotel Foxtrot,” tactical call-sign consisting of three phonetic letters) is a high-traffic station on the network of short-wave radio stations operated by Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. On YHF, Wilco use short-wave radio as a metaphor for communication in a relationship. People involved in a relationship often find their communication imperfect and cryptic, not unlike the experience of those relying on radio. Language itself is inherently flawed, inaccurate, and misread—a code often misinterpreted; further complicating matters are external distortions and distractions—a metaphoric radio static.

Ok. I thought it'd be something like that. But is there any reason why it's the 3 letters 'Y" "F" "H"? Or just so it sounded cooler than Whiskey Alpha Mike?
