His early stuff is the best place to start, but don't overlook I'm Your Man.

Try his novels as well - pretty intense. Anxious

Novels? I knew he had poetry books, but I was unaware of his novel writing. Which ones would you recommend?

The Favourite Game and Beatiful Losers. I'd go with Beautiful Losers first, but it's pretty sexually charged. Kinda like a Cronenberg film. Shhh

Songs from a room is his best IMO. But I'd advise anyone wanting to discover him to start at the beginning with Songs of Leonard Cohen.
