Blur and Gorillaz' leader Damon Albarn also had an album by a band with no name called The Good, The Bad & The Queen that's more than worth checking out if you're a fan of Albarn. Danger Mouse produced the record too.
These are both great bands that I had thought about, but i didn't include them both because Blink 182 had split up when Mark and Travis formed +44 (Tom went on to form Angels and Airwaves) and Blur had been defunct for a while before TGTBTQ. If i was to include these, i could also include Zwan (Billy & Jimmy from Smashing Pumpkins, David Pajo from Slint and Paz Lenchantin who at the time was in A Perfect Circle), At The Drive-In splintered into 2 groups - Mars Volta and Sparta, Guns N Roses members Duff, Matt Sorum and Slash teamed up with Stone Temple Pilots Scott Weiland and Dave Kushner from Wasted Youth to form Velvet Revolver. Then there was Tim Commerford, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk who teamed up with Soundgarden's Chris Cornell to form Audioslave. On a related note, Rage Against the Machine's vocalist Zack de la Rocha teamed up with Jon Theodore - drummer of The Mars Volta to form One Day As A Lion.
I know there's more like this, so i'll have to have a think and get back..... _________________ "Bunch of opinionated, hipster twats!"
