Queens of the stone age 3 nights ago in st louis with Royal Blood opening. After my first few listens, Villians was a bit of a let down but after several repeated listens and seeing them live it's definitely grown on me.

Dude that sounds like it was a blast. Those bands were around here on Oct 7. But I opted out because it was over an hour away would've been crazy expensive. Hopefully next time.

This summer I saw the Pixies live on an outdoor city festival which I liked much more than I thought I would although they didn't play Gigantic and rightly so because that's Kim Deal.
Yesterday I saw the Breeders in a small venue in Antwerp Belgium and they played one Pixies cover: guess which one Wink
When I compare both both concerts I think the Pixies won although:
- Kim Deal was as sharp as ever both physically as musically which can't be said about Frank Black
- She was very relaxed and had a great sense of humor and was making jokes all the time with her sister Kelly which certainly can't be said of Frank Black
- While in the Pixies everything seems to be calculated, the Breeders are not afraid of messing up the songs and the fantastic thing is: they get away with it.
- They played a few new songs: real ones like the new Wait In The Car and an original cover of Amon Duul II: Archangels Thunderbird which sounded really good (and of course also their famous Beatles cover)
- A few songs are delivered in a very lazy but very effective way and always with a feeling they can explode any time: Do You Love Me Now, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, Driving on 9, etc

So I suppose the backlog of the Pixies is a bit better anyway but of course I also liked the Breeders.

By the way: I liked the first (and only) full album of the PINS (Wild Nights) but their recent EP's don't really appeal and that's what they played mostly as the support act for the Breeders: a kind of dance songs but very repetitive and to me not very inspired: in fact the best act was the drummer playing the violin as support on one of the Breeders songs.

Australian Pink Floyd Show in Bournemouth on Saturday night. They were awesome. The crowd were jumping. And there was a great light show and inflatables. Plus they kicked off by playing The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. One of the best live shows I have been to since their last gig. If you can't get to see the real Pink Floyd then a great cover band will have to do.

Seeing QUTSA this summer, wish I could see Royal Blood in Croatia soon!
Last concert was months ago, but Mark Lanegan is 6th of October Smile

Gov't Mule in September. So good live. I wish they replicated that in the studio, but man they're awesome live.

I went to a Dream Syndicate concert last night in Leuven, Belgium and two words: Guitar Heaven!
They played a lot of songs from their New album that I can really recommend:

How Did I Find Myself Here? by The Dream Syndicate
it is currently my best ranked album in my 2017 chart. The Circle and Glide are fabulous guitar tracks.

As for the concert they played nearly all their “hits” from the past and especially Boston, When You Smile, That’s what you always say and the days of wine and roses got a top treatment and the band played very inspired.

I went to a Future Islands concert. It was already worth to go because of Samuel T. Herring's famous dance moves.

roger waters in ottawa, ontario on oct 10.
9/10 performance.
absolutely amazing.
sang alot of songs off his new album. played all the songs to dark side of the moon.
played alot of animals and wish you were here.
only 2 songs off the wall- mother and the final song= comfortably numb.
the band was tight and the musicians were handpicked for this tour.
The visual presentation is always top shelf.
the show was approximately 3 hours long with a 20 min intermission.

Hes 75, and now is moving his "us and them tour" to europe.
He certainly didnt have the energy of a 40/50 year old, but his presence ignites the crowd.
Truthfully, I doubt that i will ever see him again in north america and that makes me really really sad.

By the way,the best live show i have ever seen was by roger waters performing the wall- it was beyond amazing.

i can only wish that if i win the lottery, i will fly to Lisbon ( i travelled there a few years back and found the city incredible) in May and watch him two more times.
