The National, last Tuesday. Pheonomal set. It was the perfect meeting of big names like “Fake Empire” & “I Need My Girl” with lesser know tracks like “Pink Rabbits” & “Green Gloves”. Plus I loved Sleep Well Beast and they got all the best moments from it out. Oh and when they did “Mr. November” I was less than a metre away from Matt Berninger himself.

Before that it was Laneway festival here in Brisbane on the 10th. Saw Father John Misty, Mac Demarco, Moses Sumney, The War On Drugs and Slowdive among many others. It was unforgettable.

I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I love these guys. After watching them live, I get it and they are easily my favorite "modern-day" band.
Great to read your enthusiastic review.

Holy shit that sounds so good! Tell me how it goes!

I also saw Angel Olsen on Wednesday for her Solo Australian Tour here, in Brisbane’s Old Museum. It was pretty cool just seeing completely devote herself on just her early material.

Just moved to Asheville this month. It's been a wild ride. I've already seen Jonathan Richman, Christopher Paul Stelling, Shopping, French Vanilla, Ezra Furman, Anna Burch, Shame and Snail Mail, along with a handful of pretty good local acts.

Shame

Ezra Furman

Santa Fe was cool. Was just too far away from our families, and we had a bunch of close friends move to Asheville. Asheville already feels more like home and the concerts are way better.

Yeah. I like Asheville better too. One of my favorite towns. Period. It's far more liberal than Chicago which is kind of funny since it's the South. Psyched you like the move. and having good friends move there too?! Sounds like a no-brainer.

Saw belle and Sebastian last night. Wonderful gig. Best atmosphere at a gig for a while. Go see them if you can. Got Steven Wilson in a couple of days so hopefully will be ok.
