Hey any Mass Effect fans around these parts?

Playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It’s bringing me back and also just awesome. So on a whim wanted to ask about this greatest of all sci fi game trilogies.

Tali 4eva.

Yeah... I just love these games. And this universe. Brilliance.

What a coincidence. I was just contemplating purchasing the trilogy after I finish my second set of board exams (too much of a distraction if I buy now).

Haven't played since high school, but I remember thinking the 2nd one was one of the best games I've ever played. Did you play Andromeda yet?

Yeah it is a time suck. The great thing is all
dLC missions are in one place. Some of these I’ve never played and it adds a lot of lore and backstory.

And yeah I have played Andromeda and... I enjoyed it. It’s a solid 70/100. I came to it a good 2 years after very meme’d launch so a lot of the egregious graphical screw ups are handled. Still, the story is pretty dry, but not horrible. And the combat I thought was great. Characters are generally quite silly and they just couldn’t match the cast and the main protagonist of the original trilogy.

Okay and I’m still on about this as I can’t let it go. (Probably struck a nerve). Tali is my fave. Samara is my actual fave but she is 1000 years old and I can’t romance her. But she seems cool. Thane is a stud, and Garrus is also great. Liara is the character who gets the most live and I get it. But she is always second to others for me anyway.

Andromeda is a lot better than it gets credit for. Honestly a lot of its pitfalls is its rushed and problematic development cycle (short development time, a bunch of side teams had to glue it together while the main team was working on Anthem, etc). The ending of Andromeda is a huge callback to the ending of Mass Effect 1 and it has a surge of energy in that final act. Environment is stunning. Depth of things to do is great. Had they delayed Anthem and focused on Andromeda it would've been a lot better.

I'm mostly being facetious. Tali is my second or third favorite route depending on my mood, though it can get iffy since she's basically had this awkward crush on Shepard since she was a kid (was barely an adult when she went on her pilgrimage). I like Liara's route a lot and it has the most payoff, though I think very few routes have no payoff (Jacob is one of the few that is basically useless).

Yes absolutely regarding all that, Gowi.

My last play through of female shep was Liara then Jacob then back to Liara. I was super meh about the pay off for Jacob. Kind of a bummer.

Man just treated us like a side piece and moved on with his life lmao.

I need to play my third playthrough of Andromeda sometime.

Yeah same regarding Andromeda. I remember playing it only like 2 years ago or so and feeling it never got enough love. After fitting in this what will end up being a 120 hour ish full play through of mass effect (I take my time and do all the stupid small stuff) I will also be replaying Andromeda. Unless I’m distracted by copious amounts of music, other new shiny games or, like, work and life and shit.

And lol, yes he does just basically say “yeah you, the most badass and accomplished human ever who I love, not really feeling a continuation of our relationship.” I was a little peeved.
