edit: the story on this song is I have no idea. I heard about this band on the old mutant sounds blog and they go all over the place, as far as I know this is their only song dealing with this subject matter. oh wait this was the 80s maybe howard the duck had come out recently and so these sort of feelings were just in the air at the time.

my thoughts on the below song. I guess 7/10 good stuff (where 5 = ambivalence)? I'm bad with ratings, I actually just deleted all mine for albums and songs on here the other night. But this song is chill, hits sort of a middle spot between bedroom with the detuned synths and the dancefloor with the overall structure. It seemed pretty straightforward and so didn't arouse the strongest passions in me off first glance, but I enjoyed hearing it and would enjoy hearing it again in another setting for sure.

Also I'm having second thoughts about the listen-below-you thing as opposed to above you since it seems like it could be hard for people to jump in. like...me and Tap could keep on doing this forever. anyways, y'all figure it out, going to sleep. night night.

Whoa, I have no idea what to think of that. Reminds me a bit of St Vincent's Bring Me Your Loves, I'm not sure why, maybe it's the tone of it. Either way it gets a 7/10 from me.

And When You Fall by Algiers

Cool dark fun kind of vibe... like I could picture this playing at a Halloween party on the beach with half the people dancing and the other half rocking back and forth summoning demons. 8/10

this is perfect. its like a mixture between mystical spaciness and something they would play on the Weather Channel. um...8.5/10

this may destroy whoever listens to it (in a good way) - be sure to summon the proper reverence before listening. I'm only half-way joking.

Wow. 9/10
If it weren't for the video I don't think I would have given it such a high score, but still, wow. I can't really put into words how I feel about this. But it reminds me of the artist I worked for until recently....

Here's some pleasant stuff from a Seattle band:
