OK, this game is based on a word association game which you find on a lot of forums where you start off with a word and the next poster has to write one word that has an association with the previous post.
So, as this is a music forum, the one rule for this game is that all posts must relate to either an artist, album or song title....
Anyway, let's see what happens. So, to start off:

Alone
(Alone = a track by 'Heart'. The next post has to take the word from the previous post and make an association - I should have explained that at the start. The poster after that uses the association to make another association etc etc...)

this game's more difficult that I first thought....we might have to allow more tenuous relationships (e.g. same genre, common band members etc)

Okay I'm pretty sure this is not within the boundaries, but I really want to revive this thread and midnight oil is a toughie so....here goes:
My association: Bob Dylan

Is your word "Swedish", "hip" or "hop" - if I understand the rules, you're supposed to associate a single word, then expound on your association. Then the next person takes your word and associates one of their own and so on.
Associating a phrase tends to be more limiting in coming up with subsequent associations.
