any other n case fans out there...heard "tigers have spoken" from her live album for the first time last week, it is my fav song of the last 5 years..her voice is so haunting, affects me like few other voices do..I have always been against zoos and i think that this song effectively expresses my sentiments.

Absolutely! I love her. She has to have one of the most amazing voices in modern music today, and what's more, it's real too! She doesn't use auto tune. She's the real deal. She's sort of the modern day Patsy Cline or Loretta Lynn with just a dash of that alternative / indie sensibility, plus she's sexy as Hell lol.

Apperill, as a fan of female songwriters, you might like her if you can handle a bit of country twang. Everyone should check her out. The only thing is, I don't think she's made an album worthy of best ever status yet. Her last album might come close though, and it's certainly within her power to make one in the future.

No this is the song...completely amazing..I am so glad that someone else loves her as much as I do..her voice is unbelievable, I can't explain what it does to me. and I completely agree with what you said about that she hasn't made an album worthy of her talents...she needs a new producer and a new band, which is terrible. She has such a great instrument, she needs people around her that are up to her talent level. This song is my favorite of hers, it is a live recording and I don't think that it is a live album, just this one song.

That's the only album I don't own by her. It's a good song. It's pretty typical of her sound. For those who want to listen to it:

the first time I heard her was on Terry Gross' "Fresh Air" in 2007 when "the fox confessor" came out and they were playing "margaret and pauline" and I got goosebumps..i thought to myself,"...what in the f&#k did I just hear"...I was so excited. I want her to put out some great albums before her voice gets too old to do what she wants it to do..

Her songs have improved with each album. I'd give her last album 4 out of five stars. It's thoroughly enjoyable and fairly memorable. Something tells me she's got a masterpiece in her yet.

An artist I see and hear a lot about but yet never listened too. Is she like a Tori Amos type recording artist?
