I guess this will mainly be aimed at Australians. But to those who are aware what did you think of the hottest 100 this year? I thought it was overall really disappointing, the lacklustre "Big Jet Plane" at number 1, "Doncamatic" higher than the two far superior "Plastic Beach" tracks, "White Sky" not aming it but most of all "POWER" was completely shut out! anyhoo thats wht grinds my gears about it, whats other peoples opinions on it?

I knew as of about November that Big Jet Plane would be no. 1 so it wasn't a surprise (even though I am sick of the song, I got it in a sweep!)
I loved seeing 3 of my picks (Tokyo, Somebody To Love Me, Magic Fountain) in the top 10 but some choices were bad (ABC News Theme remixed, Adrian Lux's Teenage Crime, Duck Sauce).
Would have liked The National higher up and an inclusion from Ben Folds and Midnight Juggernauts would have peaked my interest!

I was looking forward to this list for a really long time. I am extremely disappointed in it. I'm not even going to be specific because it's just so obviously shit.
Big jet plane is alright, it's decent. It certainly isnt the best song of the year by any means what so ever.
No Beach House in the list really killed it for me and the omission of Sprawl II was sacrilege. _________________ Having a family is the kind of thing that could be held against a person

I was surprised at no Beach House as well.
Sprawl II they played only a handful of times. Modern Man, The Suburbs and Month Of May got more airplay.

Sadly, I've had to give up on Triple J. They are too obsessed with electro "dance bands".

And offensive folk music (Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man)
They are still better than other radio stations in Australia.

Art v Science deserved the no. 1.
And I agree with the review of Mumford & Sons. Rolling Stone Mag Australia mentioned they were "the new Proclaimers"
