the underlying theme of your music seems to me to be mental breakdown brought on by isolation or some kind of prolonged sensory deprivation, so quite a disconcerting aesthetic juxtaposed by the upbeat melodies

the man who killed a woman is a great little ditty, i can picture it with a string quartet accompinament.. love the schizophrenic episode at about 4:00 too

the ballad of thomas hardy struck me as quite strung out, with the conversational style vocals bordering on nervous breakdown towards the end.. bit of a beefheart twang to your vocals here too

You are pretty much spot on with your appraisels sir. This one in particular, "the underlying theme of your music seems to me to be mental breakdown brought on by isolation or some kind of prolonged sensory deprivation" is right on the money. It also makes me very happy that you actually took the time to listen to these.

I have since recorded two more demos: listen to them (or not) at your leisure.

Dialogue Between Two Lovers

You Are the One I Think About

And thank you once more for commenting.

Here is the cover art for Thomas Hardy, featuring the 3 main characters. Dr. Zempf is a blacklisted Jungian analyst.

haha..

well, for me the most striking factor of these latest offerings is the vocal flexibility that takes you from sounding like choked-up banjo kazooie to bee gees falsetto in one line.. at about 4:30 in the tragic demise you actually sound uncannily like 'ken kaniff' from the skits on the eminem albums, which, the more i think about it, is actually rather befitting of your character!

i will also go out on a limb and proclaim hamerabi's code your (potential) bohemian rhapsody. given the right arrangement, a mini opera is not out of the question!

Lyrics for the intricate mini opera that is Hamerabi's Code:

Hamerabi's Code wasn't written by a rabbi
It was written by some guy
Who was whiped n' slain as a martyr
No one loved him so I'll forget that
If it doesn't seem to make sense
Then you can always steal some grapes in the market
You don't have to deal with the merchants
Throw 'em all around some
And when the police they come and arrest you
Just tell them you know the secrets about Hamerabi's Code now
And then they'll accost you safely...
(where did you learn to play guitar mister? yer the best)

Tally Tooskinberg:

I don wantcha, I don wantcha to cover yourself with lies
Oh I wantcha to feel like you can tell me anything ya want, whoa baby oh
I wantcha to feel like you can tell me anything ya want
(yer the best dang guitar player this town has ever seen)
Cuz I'll be with you n' I will tell you my secrets
I will be with you the one tonight, whoa baby
(who taught you to play the guitar? you're so good!)
Said, don't worry baby, don't worry baby, cuz I'm coming for you
(unsettling noises)
I'm coming for you
Said it's almost time cuz I feel alone tonight, whoa

Shloive Tivens:

There's three little fish outside the door
Not gonna leave those little fish for their own sons, their outside now pa
I was a proud man one time, I had a hat
I had myself a family and a good dog
Oh this dog he was my friend
Now everything did and gone right on with the distant
Can't seem to talk
He said, "that the saddest times have all gone away in the mist"

The radio crackles:

"I knew a girl who came from the mountains, she was beautiful"
"He held me inside his arms, it feeled so good, I loved him so good"
"This girl from the mountains I held her deeply. I showed her what it was to be in love"
"This man he implanted his seed inside me. I didn't like it much. Help me, I've got a baby"
"I loved her. Did everything I could. I love that girl so much."
"He didn't love me. He's a phony who doesn't love women. He doesn't love women!"

Shloive:

I can't believe all the time I've wasted,
All the time I've wasted on this town
This Earth is a wretched, wretched place
Can't even see now all the troubles that goes on down the way
Oh, the Earth is a wretched place

Tally:

Don't worry baby, cuz ima gonna be the one who comes inside
Not gonna be the one who tucks you in tonight, baby

Shloive:

Oh I know it's not the right way to think about it,
But I don't see any other way, oh
And I tried the man hole, sometimes you just can't hold em off
Then there's the one way down inside

Tally:

If you're feeling lonely just gimme a call
And I'll b the 1 who gets you home tonight
Don't worry baby, don't worry none
Cuz I'm here 4 u boi
And I'll b tha 1 who gets you home tonite

There's a lot of things you'll learn in the desert
You'll learn about the palm trees
And the oasises that will keep you from your tongue
Just remeber to take a rest, man
And don't get too close to the camels
They chewing and spitting with long shaggy hair will get you at night
So don't give your love away to the camels
They don't even seem to care about the camels
With the white and the black and the dice-dice
The two stones will come apart and you'll find a way thru the books or thru the people
You'll sit in an encampment
Don't let them tell you who to be in the encampment
You can choose your own path but it's dangerous
So don't forget to eat the lemon sauce
If you solve all their problems
You'll help to deal with band-lofts
Oh, they don't even care none
They'll tell you where you're going
Yes, they'll tear you away from it
They'll get you inside now
They'll get you to teach them who's the one who'll get you teached
Taught 'em down.
