Wow! Listmeister's teams just keep on improving. Don't really know how he'll top this though because that album team is just perfect & diverse stacked with four MASSIVE classics across pretty varied terrain in prog (Red), country rock (Grievous Angel), electronica (Autobahn), & Van Morrison (that's right. the MAN gets his own genre) and then one of my favorite discoveries from the 74 tourney, Pick A Dub - just the perfect hangout record & I LOVE the lo-fi production on it.
DBZ threw up a great team in record time, but really the only things that can quite compare to those five albums are that D'Angelo album and that first half of Voices of Mesh (I think the second half drags a bit & am starting to think that inconsistency is a Jenny Hval trademark. Or maybe I'm just not arty enough. lol) Anyways, I really,really like both that Angel Olsen album and Arca album but they're both far from five star/classic territory. To be fair, I haven't checked out VHS Head yet, & I will because I've yet to get a rec from DBZ that I didn't like/love, but I'm already quite comfortable voting '74.
At this rate, Listmeister will b throwing out Skinny-sized recs in about one week.
Once again, teams aren't supposed to be "I saw yours and put up mine." Even if it wasn't done, there's assumed conflict of interests. I will let this one slide, and hope voters take this into account.
Also, what the fuck, there were votes for DBZ even before he posted his team. This ain't the BEUT people!
