Ready to Die? Illmatic? Blueprint 3? 3 Feet High and Rising? Low End Theory? My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy? 36 Chambers? Supreme Clientele? The Chronic? Staight Outta Compton?

I would discount any hip-hop top ten that doesn't have at least two of these on the list.

Haha?? You know, not everything has to be centered around Pitchfork...

Doesn't really matter if Pitchfork likes it, like, good for them and stuff, but it's still one of the best hip-hop albums of all-time.

Top 10:

1. Nas - Illmatic
2. Kanye West - MBDTF
3. Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back
4. Outkast - Stankonia

6. A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
7. Classified - Self Explanatory
8. The Roots - Illadelph Halflife
9. Eminem - Marshall Mathers LP
10. Kanye West - College Dropout

Have to agree with Low End Theory & 36 Chambers - great albums. Straight Outta Compton has its merits, 3 Feet High & Rising is pretty good overall - minus the skits which i find a bit annoying. Can't believe i forgot about Illmatic - thats an awesome album.

Unfortunately i have to skip over Ready to Die - I relate Biggie to around the time Sean Puffy Combs appeared - which IMO was also when Hip Hop started to go down hill...
Blueprint 3 - I never understood why Jay-Z is so highly rated - always thought he was an average MC. Also the same with Kanye West too.
Supreme Clientele - will check this out, big fan of any Wu Tang stuff - Method Man is my favourite.

Also noticed that i've left off any mention of Jurassic 5 - always put out quality albums!

chemical, you can't discount an album based on its associations; just listen to Ready to Die and love that poopoo (it's like a hardcore Illmatic). I don't like Kanye as a person but like his music; disassociate the music from the maker, and you will love so much more music. You're not trying to make friends with Biggie or anything
