I think that's part of being human, though, I don't think that's a bad thing. In fact, in a way, that's what would make a God seem so alluring to people - here is a being that *cannot* do wrong (hypothetically, I'd argue that but it's whatever). But at the same time, it's those strange moments - Numbers 31, among others - where God is a monster. God is terrifying, and I don't want to think about those moments if I do believe in a God because they would scare me I'm wrong.
But at the same time, there's moments now, little, tiny, floating moments, moments that are utterly, utterly perfect, that I know have reasonable, scientific explanations, but they feel almost holy. The sunrise over the ocean. A kiss under a streetlight. That one specific look you got from a friend when you were upset and you could see in their eyes the care, the fact that they want to help you that much. And it's in those moments that I become afraid that there is a God, that I've been wrong to question my prior faith and that I ought to continue to believe.
So, I'm an agnostic that goes to synagogue and prays nightly. I see God in birds and Satan in long words. _________________

Why see god as anything but for who he is?

It's a Brand New quote, and I can see a certain amount of holiness in either, though in my personal interpretation to make it work with myself birds = nature and long words = arguments, though I know that probably wasn't the band's intent _________________
