Glad the site is back up and running.
PG might be the best Zep album. This album grooves like nothing else. Great great album, and as for double albums, the first disc might be the best disc one of all time (for doubles).

Could be one of my favorite Zeppelin albums if they chopped off the last 4 songs.

I agree the second disc is a little lack luster compared to the first. Some of the last few songs really groove, but Night Flight could be the most average Zep song ever. The album would benefit from it being gone imo.

I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, and I find this album a touch overrated. There are some fantastic songs: "Kashmir", "Ten Years Gone" (mostly those two). A lot of the album is made up of lightly produced rock tunes with vaguely funk drum beats. Some of it feels a bit stale, though nothing is bad. The second disc is more diverse than the first but not necessarily highlights in that category (Led Zeppelin III, for instance, is far better). Even "In the Light" and "In My Time of Dying", two of Zep's longest songs, while strong, are not among their best. But the whole thing is still satisfying.

There is such a great range of sounds here-epic orchestral numbers, light hearted jams, heavy rockers, scorching blues, Eastern influences, sublime folk...this is the full range of Zeppelin.
