Ever heard a game called danger zone?

so, the game is different from tournament but it still contains voting

We usually started with 40-100 entries (artists, albums, etc.)
All those entries were put in a DANGER ZONE.
One by one, they were moved to the SAFE ZONE till there are only one entry left in the DANGER ZONE.
Each round one entry is eliminated.
Keep going until we see the winner
If you want an entry to stepped a new round, you must save it.

Example:

Quote:
DANGER ZONE
Pink Floyd
Joanna Newsom
Demi Lovato

SAFE ZONE

----------------------

DANGER ZONE
Joanna Newsom
Demi Lovato

SAFE ZONE
Pink Floyd

---------------------

DANGER ZONE
Demi Lovato

SAFE ZONE
Pink Floyd
Joanna Newsom


That means Demi Lovato is eliminated.

How to save an entry?
There are 2 ways:
a. You can copy paste the DANGER-SAFE ZONE like you can see above
b. You can just post "Save [an entry]", ex: "Save Pink Floyd"

But the most effective way is the first one so it doesn't bring confusion.


And...
Usually, as we reached the Top 10, we doubled up the entries
Example:

American Authors

SAFE ZONE



And if we save an entry only one "part" of it is moved to the SAFE ZONE

Example:

DANGER ZONE

So in Top 10, it needs two votes to save an entry
three votes in Top 8
four votes in Top 5
five votes in Top 3
six votes in the FINALE

Seems like it could be fun and it's only one thread per tournament, so it won't clutter the forum. Maybe start with a simple group, like the BEA top 20 albums or something.

yeah, why don't we try out the BEA Top 20 ITT to get a practice round in before we make a new thread for new tournaments? this seems like a fun forum Game, and it seems like the Games section could use more of these pick up and play type tournaments instead of the long-term polling tournaments (though i obviously enjoy those for different reasons).
