we are three four songs into beneath the raging sea right now. i've written something in the neighborhood of fifty songs for this project, but they're obviously not all going to make the cut. going to be difficult to establish an official stopping point. i think ten to twelve tracks is an ideal length, but there are definitely eighteen songs right now that i really, really want to put on the record. i'll probably make a pass at each of those and pick the ones that work best.
art is vanity.

Up to the surface. I run back into your snare, where all of your teeth dwarf the lightbulbs in your stare. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Up to the surface. Bare this body’s bag of bones. I flop up the ladders and spawn my babies in a funeral home.

So the birds pick your eyes out? Don’t leave me like that. The bones in your body are tongue-trot and tawdry? The deer in my headlights is lining my crossed-eyes. Your blind spot. I’m your blind spot. Don’t you drop me.
The bears in your beeswax are licking your heart out, but it’s wood rot and useless. It’s barnacle hubris when I’m the razor to your strip - the light through your raindrops. I won’t stop. No, I won’t stop unless you drop me.
