Hi there guys
I'd like to add an album but actually I don't know the right way to add it because I have:
the album title, the composer and the performers.
so I thought this way:
artist : the performers
and in the album title's field something like: composer: album title
is it ok?

These links should probably not be as buried as they are. I always find this information hard to read in the mouseover box.

Quote:
If this is a classical artist, the conductor should be listed first, and then the name of the main orchestra, and then any lead performers, separated by forward slashes (these can then be parsed in a future site update & be individually credited).

For classical albums, the composer should be listed first followed by a colon, and then the album title e.g. Beethoven: 5th Symphony. This allows any duplicates to be more easily identified.

When I added the one Feldman thing from this year I just went by what the packaging was, I'll update it to this.. or hmm, how do you fix that?

Basically what I've found is if the album is very commonly referred to as being "Composer - Work" (e.g. Terry Riley - In C) then you can list it as such, but if it needs to be corrected then just submit the necessary correction within the album detail editing page as a comment (assuming the artist is not already in the database, in which case you would select the "Album Artist is incorrect please enter the correct ID" option)

also I'll use this as an opportunity to say sorry AM for the many times I've annoyed you with corrections of this nature

that's pretty much right for classical pieces (where somebody is performing somebody else's work)... Tap's post contains the detail.

Both those links can be accessed from the bottom of the admin pages, I'll look at making them more prominent.
