Was hoping he could pull through after things sounded like they were getting better. I was lucky to see him live in 2017 with Bon Iver and friends, he only joined for a few songs at the end but it was more than enough. Call someone today and tell them Hello In There.

This hits hard. My dad would play a lot of John Prine when I was a kid. R.I.P. to a legend.

No words will do any justice to what John Prine's music has meant to me down the years.

RIP

Bruised Orange is great! Finally listened to my dad's copy after all these years of it just sitting in my collection. Absolutely recommend it. RIP John Prine.

I didn't think that I would ever see it again, but I found it!!!

Go here and start watching at the 1:21:16 mark of the clip for Joe's Music City News performance of "The Ships That Don't Come In".

God bless you and his family and the rest of his fans always!!!

Holly

P.S. I didn't think that Joe would ever give it up at the end, I LOVE the smile on his face while listening to the crowd go bonkers for him!!!

RIP Hal Willner. Another COVID casualty, only 64. Sketch music producer for SNL for almost two decades. Produced albums for Lou Reed, Marianne Faithful, Lucinda Williams and Laurie Anderson among others. Produced several tribute albums known for their eclecticism, including these:

That's The Way I Feel Now: A Tribute To...us Artists

Featuring Dr. John, Todd Rundgren, Joe Jackson, Peter Frampton, John Zorn, Gil Evans, Steve Lacy, Johnny Griffin etc.

Lost In The Stars: The Music Of Kurt We...us Artists

Featuring Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Marianne Faithful, Van Dyke Parks, Sting, Todd Rundgren, John Zorn etc.

Stay Awake: Various Interpretations Of ...us Artists

Featuring Michael Stipe and Natalie Merchant, Bonnie Raitt with Was (Not Was), Ringo Starr with Herb Alpert, James Taylor, The Replacements, Sinead O'Connor, Aaron Neville, Los Lobos, Sun Ra, Harry Nilsson, Yma Sumac, Betty Carter etc.

He's sometimes credited with playing a role in launching Jeff Buckley's career. An old boss of mine was Willner's roommate in college. I was at the show recorded for the Willner-produced live Marianne Faithful album Blazing Away.

Not necessarily in the realm of music, but Nobuhiko Obayashi has passed away.

Based on the years I've been here, I know BEA has quite a few fans of his debut film Hausu (House).

Huh, I just saw that we seemed to have missed one. Genesis P Orridge of "Throbbing Gristle" and "Psychic TV" fame passed on March 14th.
