It's wierd- I didn't recognise his name, but Kraftwerk were as great as any band. I suppose I don't feel so sad as I might in other cases as there isn't that personal connection somehow... I just want to stick on their albums and admire what they achieved (so I will!)
Aye. He just came over as a really nice guy. Always an enjoyable listen. Nothing in your face. Definitely recommend his first two. Was actually going to go and see him recently with Rodney P and Blak Twang but I was too ill to go unfortunately. What a shit week. Dave Greenslade too.
This might sound strange, but I was just thinking about him 2-3 days ago after Tony Allen passed. I was listing off a couple bigger musicians that I didn't want to be hit by the entire virus pandemic, and it struck me 'oh yeah, Little Richard's still around, how old is he?' and I gave his debut another listen just on Thursday just for some uplifting music. I think it was the first time I'd played it in at least 5 years. It's a bizarre feeling. Same thing happened to me with Dr. John.
