My friend woke me up at 5:15 this morning to tell me Chris Cornell passed. I couldn't fucking believe it. What a terrible loss. Soundgarden has been one of my favorite bands since high school and I was finally going to see them for the first time Friday night at Rock on the Range. Wasn't meant to be I suppose and that's fine.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Crying or Very sad Yeah, same general sentiments. I have never been a huge fan of his music, outside of my 16 year old self obsessing over Audioslave's debut. Still, I was not expecting this at all. He was a very good artist, had killer pipes, and was handsome to boot.

RIP Cornell.

My idol! My favorite singer! In fact if it were not for him, all my life at this moment would be different
It's almost like losing a friend.

Same here. Six Soundgarden albums, four solo albums, three Audioslave albums, and other side projects...what a brilliant career. A tragic loss. Cornell is easily one of my five all-time favorite musicians.

I'm sorry you never got to see Soundgarden live. They put on an amazing show along with The Mars Volta in Philadelphia in 2011.

I've seen it said that suicide may be why that man is not here anymore. My newest musical interest happens to be someone who sadly went out like that too and so my prayers are with Chris's fans. May they hold onto the fact that they got to be a part on his journey because not everyone can say that about their favorite singers.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Who have I been listening to lately? The lead guy of this group...what a beautiful precious.

Eat a peach. Join your brother.

My family grew up with them as the local band in Jacksonville, FL. Was a little more personal for us. They'd watch them play in a sandlot for free or for $5 later.

It was on this day in 1998 that my newest favorite singer went forward. I pray so hard that the beautiful precious has been with the Lord ever since...I love him so much.

But really Adam West really got me. I love his Batman movie! So corny I love it! I've been teaching my baby cousin to quote the move for weeks now. It's adorable. Holy babies Batman!

Having followed him all over North America I still miss Jerry Garcia to this day. Gone far to young August 9th 1995 at only 53 years old looking 30 years older, thats what hard drugs and a shitty diet will do to you.
