I think everyone here can, at one time or another, own up to being a musical snob. I shun commercial pop rubbish and maintain that the music I listen to is real and emotional. But there are some songs I just love, but would never admit to in certain company. So because we all love a list - here are my top 5 Guilty Secrets and the reasons behind them:
5. Georgia Satellites - Keep Your Hands To Yourself I heard this when I was 8/9 year old and was blown away by the guitar solos. So much so, I recorded it off the TV by placing a tape recorder (it was the '80's remember) next to the TV!
4. Poison - Nothin' But A Good Time Cheesy Hair-Metal. But Poison was the coolest band on the planet when I was 11/12. Hell, I even wanted to be CC Deville - now it sounds sooo embarrassingly bad - but still cool in a way!
3. The Choir Boys - Run To Paradise I remember hearing this on the radio when I was 9/10, and I recently heard it again and realised that it's actually a great song.
2.John Cougar Mellencamp - Cherry Bomb This is on my top 150 song list. It was played at my first prom when I was 12, and it still brings back massive nostalia.
1. All Saints - The Beach I really can't explain it, but I love this song. _________________ "Bunch of opinionated, hipster twats!"
anyway, Slave for U by Britney spears is the one coming to my mind, but i don't feel any guilt, because i think that it's a good pop song, and that the Neptunes have done a good work on that one.
Spice Girls
Rihanna
Christina Aguilera
Little Lion Man By Mumford & Sons
Smash Mouth (somewhat guilty)
Linkin Park (off and on)
Careless Whisper By George Michael
