Talk about an album that endures. Sounds as serene as it did fifty years ago–I assume. I love it.

1. Suzanne
3. Winter Lady
6. So Long, Marianne
10. One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong

The Stranger Song is where it's at.

Anyway, an excellent debut - even if the best was yet to come (Songs from a Room for me).

They're both so exceptional it's hard for me to even decide which I like better. But I'm also a huge fan of Death of a Ladies Man.

Can we discuss "Hallelujah"? I know that doesn't come for nearly twenty years, but I feel like Leonard Cohen wrote what might be the greatest modern song of all time, and made the absolute worst version he could.

I don't understand why the original gets so much hate. It's still my favorite version, and yeah, it is one of the greatest ever imo.

As for this one, great album, my favorite from him. I also think New Skin For The Old Ceremony deserves more love.

Suzanne is a masterpiece.

I've mentioned this before, but I feel his music is 65% lyrics and I only 20% pay attention to them... it took me like 3 years to get into Jeffery Lewis for the same problem. I know he's great, but I just haven't cracked the ice yet.

Exactly the same for me. But his first 3 are all just amazing, with this being my 3rd favorite of his. But as far as great, fully formed debuts go, this is right towards the top tier for me. Absolutely stellar.
