once again I'm a little behind on my SLP listening and I apologize for the hypocrisy, but rest assured I will be doing my homework soon

in the meantime, hey I did another thing

this one is called Sonorous Acoustic Resonances, named after a comment Dave made on my last SLP that convinced me to take a certain direction explored a bit on that one and run with it. Appropriately, the artwork is once again made but that incredible squishy god of a man.

Playlist also kinda doubles as a tribute to the recently passed electronic/drone pioneer legend, the late Pauline Oliveros. RIP

Track list:

1. Bruno Maderna - Notturno [1956]
2. Vladimir Ussachevsky - Metamorphosis [1957]
3. Pauline Oliveros - Crossing the Sands [1988]
4. Laughing Eye Weeping Eye - Dandelion [2013]
5. Aphex Twin - #13 (Parallel Stripes) [1994]
6. Else Marie Pade - Faust Suite pt. 2: Faust & Mefisto [1962]
7. Akio Suzuki & Aki Onda - do ko ka ra [2014]
8. Jenny Hval & Susanna - Milk Pleasures [2014]
9. Urban Sax - Slow-Turn Around Mevlana [1991]
10. Halim El-Dabh - Wire Recorder Piece [1944]

LISTEN HERE

and as always if someone would prefer a download to drop into your media player of choice (complete with Dave's very excellent album art), just PM me Wink

Halfway through and this keeps getting better and better. I wasn't familiar with Oliveros but she's already the highlight. Them's some high quality resonances.

Oh man. Do ko ka ra. Gorgeous.

Wow... this was surprisingly accessible for me.

I did listen to it 3 times, so maybe that helped. For example, the first track was utterly annoying the first time around (no offense, just how I felt at the time), yet surprisingly grew on me my third listen.

My first listen, I'll be honest, I almost felt like the 3-5 songs were the same song, just modes/instruments changed, hehe. Oh ignorance is bliss.

Also, I feel like the song order changed, or I'm smokin' kiwi. I had that problem with Squishypuffdave too... I wonder if I accidentally hit shuffle play or something.

Anyway, this isn't a very helpful review (I doubt I'd be able to say anything intelligent about it anyway), rather a high five (to myself? ahahaha) that I actually enjoyed this because I doubt this was for lame peeps like me who usually can't get into this type of stuff. I think I'd still need to be in a certain place to visit this regularly.

Another Day Another Dollar

My bro and I used to say that every day as a funny motivator. Now it is Another Day, Another Divides By Zero.

Anyway, thanks for this playlist... might be a gateway drug for me!
