How about the new Shabazz Places track? Brief but spacey. It's so good!

Genuinely hyped at this point. They turned into this decade's Blondie or something new wavey like that. Could end up being better than their last album.

(also that Shabazz Palaces track is banging)

"Call The Police/American Dream&qu...oundsystem

And a new single from Grizzly Bear:

"Three Rings" by Grizzly Bear

What does everyone think?

To be honest... I'm not too impressed. I certainly like "american dream" more than "call the police." The latter sounds like something Flight of the Concords would come up with to imitate LCD Soundsystem. "american dream" is good, but not great. It could definitely grow on me, but it kind of drags on. The instrumentation on it is great, but overall I think they could've done a lot more.

For me I guess they sound too much like B-sides, but that's just my first reaction. Hopefully they'll grow on me.

Edit: Just noticed the Grizzly Bear track. I was nervous at first they were going all synth/electronic on me like every other band but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I like the darker, more ominous vibe they're going for. It's a very interesting artistic direction and I'm really curious as to how the final product will look.

I agree with you but I'm the other way around. Even though "Call The Police" sounds like a pop punk band trying to hard to sound like a post punk revivalist band.

I know. It sounds like Yellow House gone electro folk but - like you said - a whole lot darker. The drum work is amazing. I am v. invested in this new sonic route and just can't wait for the album too.
