Updated through Sat 6-17-17 ^^^
I upgraded the ratings to these (among others):
Glagolitic Mass - Leos Janacek (1926)
Symphony No. 9 in E Minor "From the New World" - Antonin Dvorak (1893)
These are all currently under strong consideration for 9.3/10+
String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp Minor - Ludwig van Beethoven (1826)
Symphony No. 5 in C Minor - Ludwig van Beethoven (1808)
Symphony No. 4 in E Minor - Johannes Brahms (1884)
Glagolitic Mass - Leos Janacek (1926)
Symphony No. 9 in E Minor "From the New World" - Antonin Dvorak (1893)
These are under strong consideration for an upgrade to 9.2/10 (maybe even higher)
String Quintet in C Major - Franz Schubert (1828)
Messiah - George Frideric Handel (1741)
St. Matthew Passion - Johann Sebastian Bach (1727)
Missa Solemnis – Ludwig van Beethoven (1823)
While all these have been masterpieces to me for quite some time, now that I've been revisiting and newly evaluating them over the last several months, I am starting to think that Classical music might have more 9.3+ works than I initially realized. "Might" is the key word. I am usually extra careful and thorough before "allowing" a work into the 9.3+ ratings range, because it is so exclusive and I like to ensure it retains the requisite emotional/conceptual depth over several listens. _________________ Best Classical

Updated through 6-24-17 ... First post, first page ^^^ All of the above (scroll up) still in play. Glagolitic Mass, currently even ahead of the others, is very likely to be upgraded at any moment. I'm going to give it one or two more listens to be sure, but it's pretty much a given right now. _________________ Best Classical

Updated through 7-1-17 ^^^ First post, first page ... Working on getting my ratings for several symphonies more accurate/current ... particularly those of Mozart, which were "haphazardly" placed on my list before this, but I am now in-progress on rectifying and placing them into their proper positions and ratings. _________________ Best Classical
