Was wondering what was your 10. I know that this is a question that has been - probably - posed a few times. Here's mine:

Laughing Stock or Mark Hollis if these count as 'rock' or even 'indie'? 'Indie rock' means virtually nothing.

10 next that maybe qualify better:
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted or Wowee Zowee or both.
Swell - 41
Cat Power - What Would the Communiuy Think
Mazzy Star - Among My Swan
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Low - I Could Live in Hope (hardly 'rock' tbh, but uses rock instruments so maybe)
Slint - Spiderland
Sugar - Beaster
The Fatima Mansions - Bertie's Brochure
PJ Harvey - Dry

Omitted records by Smog, Red House Painters or Will Oldham that generally don't qualify as 'rock' to these ears.

tl;dr the best indie rock is generally not 'rock'.

I just thought adding rock to categorization helped to narrow things down.

I love "Laughing Stock" & "Spiderland" too.

I would've counted "Knock Knock" by Smog, it goes pretty electric. I mean this track alone says it all:
