NOT FUNNY! THAT"S SICK! 2016 BEAMA nominations chit-cha

Allright so were at that time of year where we get to vote on what we thought was the best music... of the just-finished previous year. Again I hope this follows fairly similarly to previous BEAMA's run by the wonderful and fluffy Jher Bear and the beautiful Loveless, and should be pretty straightforward with categories like album of the year, song of the year, EP of the year, most overrated, specific genre album favorites, sexiest album and so on and so forth. So basically just wanted to use this thread to talk to y'all beautiful people about what categories we should keep, should add or disregard altogether... or at least see if anybody is actually going to bother voting this year. Eh, we can only hope.


So down below are the suggested categories that are mostly similar to years past, with in parentheses the (minimum number of entries required to have your votes counted - to maximum number of entries allowed),


and basically just get your feelings what should definitely stay, what should go, and any category ideas you may have that should be added to the list before I start sending out ballots. Anyways, I guess just get to deciding what your favorite pieces of musical genius are in each category, and hopefully y'all have fun and participate in the 2016 BEAMA's award! All suggestions welcome as long as their not about Deez Nuts.

Hehe forgot to include other. I think Im just going to put as an add-on a category for best album and song for 2015, just so we have that for the record book. Im also going to round up the old BEAMA's thread to give a primer for the newcomers how it all works. And hopefully somebody somewhere shows some signs of interest so this task ultimately won't be in vain.

Yeah we're going to start the nominations very soon, and hopefully get 'em all in by the beginning of Feburary. Basically all I wanna know here is any new possible categories that you think might fit and be fun or educational or just plain SWAG-y that might work here, or any that deserve to go. I limited a bit of the song categories since some genres like Metal and ambient aren't really single-orienteted and it's a considerably thinner bench of top-tier contenders, and plus it's already going to be a crowded awards show.

But yeah so here's the actual, serious-serious-talk-guys list of categories and just want any final thoughts before the actual nominating gets up and running, hopefully sometime later this week. And to answer Rocky yeah I do hope to get all the nominations in by early feb., the voting in by the end of that month and the actual awards show presentation sometime in March. Obv I want to give a little more time for people who may want to catch up on any albums they have missed (use this and the nominations thread to promote your favorites, especially in the non-album-related categories), but we don't want this to still be like a chad and keep hanging by the time people have lost all interest in 2016 (and really who wants to focus on a year like 2016 much longer?). So yeah final thoughts people and then on to the actual nominations

Oh and one final thing for the BEAMA lifetime achievement award I was wondering if you wanted to focus on giving the award to & recognizing the work of a long-time BEAer rather than a musical artist, or if you find that too industry-style and self-congratulatory.
