For reference...this came up about 5 years ago. The final vote was 17-16 in favor of The Replacements.

Apologies - I did do a search for it first, but couldn't pick it up. Looks like it was close enough that a recount doesn't hurt.

No problem...I just thought that a look at the previous poll would be fun and helpful.

For me, in a Beatles vs. X poll, the Beatles will usually lose.

This is an exception.

Interestingly, when I vote against the fabs, I'm always in the minority. Now that I vote for them, I'm still in the minority Exclamation

Replacements! I can't believe this has been close before. Well I can, because it's The Beatles. But really, this should be no contest. I think it's highly unlikely that a high percentage of people would choose Let it Be (by The Beatles) if it were by another band -- imho.

I can't believe it's close either. My take is that it's the dying gasp of a great band, with only a few decent songs, vs one of the most dynamic rock and roll records ever made.

Agreed The Replacements Let it Be smokes The Beatles edition. If The Beatles Let it Be wins, I won't really be surprised or care, but if I did, maybe I would take some solace in the possibility that Across the Universe was probably among the influences to Neutral Milk Hotel's extraordinary In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.
