Well since they have a new LP out Friday week and their last was one of the coolest albums of the decade, I'm going to go with Spoon. Even though it only clocks in at 44 minutes, I feel the way it worked out is kind of cinematic. I'm actually proud.

Spoon - 1 Hour Artist Challenge: Playlist

1. Inside Out (The only introduction imo)
2. Don't You Evah
3. Can I Sit Next To You
4. Metal Detektor (S.O.S. is my 2nd favourite LP but the tracks are too short)
5. The Way We Get By
6. I Turn My Camera On
7. The Underdog
8. The Rent I Pay
9. I Summon You
10. Hot Thoughts
11. Sister Jack
12. Do You

Wow! These are actually quite fun! At first I was leaning toward doing one for Real Estate but then I realised that I have two other playlist related to them and then it's just becoming obsessive. So I settled on Beach House (not a bad compromise at all). There were heaps of tracks I wanted to put on here but I feel like this competently sells the styles they've come to cultivate and it does feel cinematic as well. Not to forget that it gets me much closer to the hour (approx. 58 minutes).

Beach House - 1 Hour Artist Challenge: Playlist

1. Myth (I had 3 different openers to choose from)
2. Zebra
3. Space Song
4. Heart of Chambers
5. Rough Song
6. Silver Soul
7. Lazuli
8. Wildflower
9. Gila
10. Walk In The Park
11. Somewhere Tonight
12. Take Care (Had just as many closers as I did openers)

good list, but I just couldn't imagine doing this and not having 10 mile stereo as a part of it..
to each their own, though. your list is your best list.

10 Mile Stereo, Other People, Levitation & Real Love were heavily considered but I felt what I came up with worked great in terms of flow.

Here's another one. Deleted one of my other Real Estate playlists for this. I'm seriously hoping In Mind lives to up to what its two singles promise. (approx. 53 minutes)

Real Estate - 1 Hour Artist Challenge: Playlist

1. Had To Hear
2. Kinder Blumen
3. Beach Comber
4. Talking Backwards
5. Stained Glass
6. Surburban Beverage
7. Crime
8. It's Real
9. Darling
10. Fake Blues
11. The Bend
12. All The Same

Barely breaks the rules... (1hr 1min and an additional song) I would take out the first song, but I kind of like having one of their newer songs next to their first single.

If you must be a purest, take out the first track.

Doing this one because I know nobody else will (even those other closet U2 fans). Most people don't give a shit about the 30 or so years U2 has really been able to maintain some kind of relevancy/following this whole time. If you don't believe me/argue their relevancy, look at the career of Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins, or Guns N' Roses... or like 1689484162198 other artists. They don't have records that chart 30 years later... they don't have the highest attended tour of all time 30 years later. Like it or not, U2 will be remembered 100 years from now. Are they the most creative force in music, absolutely not. Do they connect with people in a sincere way (even if now I question that) when they are on tour? You bet - that's why they have such a massive following (outside the elitist crowd).

Alright, so here's the list. It's an attempt to highlight their entire career. I tried to choose songs that you haven't heard 2064346 times on the radio.

https://open.spotify.com/user/122614575...rCM4I0Erie

1. No Line On The Horizon
2. Out of Control
3. Scarlet
4. New Year's Day (yes the Edge plays both the piano and guitar live)
5. Bad
6. Bullet the Blue Sky
7. Desire
8. Until the End of The World
9. Some Days Are Better Than Others
10. Miss Sarajevo (featuring Brian Eno and Pavarotti)
11. Please
12. In A Little While (supposedly the last song Joey Ramone listened to)
13. All I Want Is You

not sure that entire preamble is totally necessary.. U2 is cool. no need to justify the bands you like.

My only problem with U2 is that one album that apple forced onto everyone's iPhone , their 80s-90s work is pretty solid, and I don't see how anyone could hate Vertigo
