Breaking the rules again for the third time in a row but in a different way; this time I'm exceeding the allocated time limit. I started this one on Saturday and just forgot to complete it up until an hour ago. I love the Yo La Tengo catalog so much that Painful is my favourite album (period) - probably why it has the most tracks on here - so I wanted to do them proper justice by incorporating a bit of everything. (approx. 1 Hr 8 Mins)

Yo La Tengo - 1 Hour Artist Challenge: Playlist

1. Beach Party Tonight (I know this is the opener from Summer Sun but I couldn't not put it here)
2. Big Day Coming
3. I'll Be Around
4. Drug Test
5. You Can Have It All
6. Pass The Hatchet, I'm Goodkind
7. Nothing To Hide
8. Autumn Sweater
9. Decora
10. Nowhere Near
11. More Stars Than There Are In Heaven
12. I Heard You Looking

(Missing: From a Motel 6, every other track off ICHTHBAO, more of their 80's material, Tom Courtney, Blue Line Swinger & Our Way To Fall)

Earlier tonight while listening to the latest New Pornographers album (which came out today), a friend asked me to introduce her to Destroyer. Now I know Dan Bejar isn't present on Whiteout Conditions but I still think he is the strongest member of the group. Through constant reinvention and releasing pieces that exceed even the Pornographers' creative peak in Twin Cinema, diving into his catalog is a really rewarding experience. I mean, the guy has Streethawk, Kaputt & Rubies to his name and that's just purely on a surface level. So I'm hoping this can not only help my friend but anyone who's looking to get into Destroyer's body of work which can get tumultuous when you consider the amount of intellect he brings to the lyricism. (Aprrox. 1 hr 1 min)

Destroyer - 1 Hour Artist Challenge: Playlist

1. Chinatwon
2. Painter In Your Pocket
3. It's Gonna Take An Airplane
4. The Sublimation Hour
5. Kaputt
6. Girl In A Sling (Fingers crossed this one shocks someone)
7. Hey, Snow White
8. No Cease Fires! (Crimes Against the State of Our Love, Baby)
9. Savage Night At The Opera
10. Times Square
11. Rubies
12. The Bad Arts (I'd die for this track honestly. Best use of a Joy Division reference.)

P.S. I was going to try and make it feel like more of a full circle experience with each of the Times Square(s) on Poison Season but I realised that would be a disservice to anyone who hasn't heard that album.

I'm not sure about this tracklist... one or two feel a bit out of order, but definitely some of their best songs:

1) Ribcage
2) Grounds for Divorce
3) Magnificent (She Says)
4) Snooks (Progress Report)
5) Some Riot
6) The Bones of You
7) Fallen Angel
Cool the birds
9) Picky Bugger
10) Mirror Ball
11) Starlings
12) jesus is a rochdale girl
